Selva, a 13-year-old girl, lives in the Costa Rican Caribbean. After the sudden disappearance of her only maternal figure, Selva is left in the care of a deteriorating grandfather. Between mysterious shadows and wild animals, Selva faces the last moments of her childhood alone while she acquires an unusual wisdom for a young woman her age.
