Santa Cine is an independent film distributor, located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. We premiere innovate films. We select the films that we work with using great care. We like to work with director and producers with whom we can plan and agree upon specific launch strategies for each film because we believe in their value and potential. We also offer consulting and promote films at festivals all over the world. In 2020, Santa Cine launched its international sales department.
Having earned a degree in Arts from the University of Buenos Aires, and after acquiring years of experience in distribution and sales, Lucía opened her own distribution company: Santa Cine where she has spearheaded the premiere of over 50 films in Argentina. She also serves as a professor at the Center for Cinematographic Research (Centro de Investigación Cinematográfica) and is currently working on a second degree in the field of Image and Sound Design. As a scriptwriter, her first feature length film, La Chica Nueva, won the prize for Best Fiction Script from Argentores (Argentina’s General Society of Authors), the prize for Best Script from Argentina’s National Fund for the Arts, and the Coup de Coeur Prize from the Toulouse Film Festival.
She studied film at the Center for Cinematographic Research and has twenty years of experience in the industry. She served on the staff for both the BAFICI Film Festival and the Mar del Plata International Film Festival. For the Argentine National Ministry of Culture, she has worked as a cultural manager and event producer. Today she dedicates her time and energy exclusively to the distribution of films at film festivals and international sales.
She graduated from ENERC (national film school of Argentina) with a degree in Art Direction, and also holds a degree in as a professional Graphic Designer from the University of Buenos Aires. She has worked as an art and costume assistant on numerous films. Currently, she is an independent graphic designer working for a range of clients, but with a particular interest in projects related to cinema. She has developed the brand identity of several clients, including Santa Cine.
