The horned frog, by Augusto Sinay
Argentina, 1866. In an isolated territory, haunted by the fear and scarcity of a distant war, Venancio, a young gaucho, kills a horned frog: a species of large frog that feeds on other smaller animals. When his mother predicts that according to a folk tale the frog will take revenge, Venancio embarks on a deep journey through a marginalized region. Between rustlers, priests, shamans and deserters he seeks to save himself from the curse.
